  • Donut Pan
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1/4 cup Oil
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Milk warmed
  • 4 tbsp. Instant Coffee
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt

For the Glaze

  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1-3 tbsp. Coffee Creamer (or milk)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  • In a small saucepan or microwave, warm the milk until it’s hot but not boiling.
    1/2 cup Milk
  • Stir the instant coffee into the warm milk until fully dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.
    4 tbsp. Instant Coffee
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, oil, brown sugar, and white sugar. Mix until well combined.
1/4 cup Butter, 1/4 cup Oil, 1/4 cup Brown Sugar, 1/2 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth
1 large Egg, 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Slowly add the warm milk coffee mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
    1 3/4 cup Flour, 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder, 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined and smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. I did about 2 tbsp per donut mold.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
Cool: Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the Glaze

  • In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar with your favorite coffee creamer, adding 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency for the glaze.
1 cup Powdered Sugar, 1-3 tbsp. Coffee Creamer (or milk)
  • Dip or drizzle the glaze on the cooled donuts, allowing any excess to drip off. Let them set on the wire rack. Make sure to put parchment paper under the wore rack for easy clean up!
  • ENJOY!

Notes

Storage Tips for this Recipe

  • Cool Completely: Ensure the donuts are completely cooled before storing to prevent condensation, which can make them soggy.
  • Room Temperature Storage: Store the donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. This keeps them fresh without drying out.
  • Refrigeration: If you need to store them longer, you can refrigerate the donuts for up to a week. Place them in an airtight container to maintain moisture.
  • Freezing: For longer storage, freeze the donuts. Wrap each donut individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then place them in a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be frozen for up to 2-3 months.
  • Thawing: To enjoy frozen donuts, remove them from the freezer and let them thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes. For a warm treat, you can heat them in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • Glaze Separately: If possible, store the glaze separately in an airtight container. Glazed donuts may become sticky over time, so glazing them just before serving can help maintain their appearance and texture.
  • Reviving Freshness: If the donuts feel a bit stale after storage, you can pop them in the microwave for 5-10 seconds to refresh them, or warm them in the oven at a low temperature for a few minutes.
